We’re Here To Educate And Keep Your Home Safe

As many people know, Fresh Tech Maid is more than just a maid service, we’re a helping hand in our community. It’s part of our mission to educate those around us whenever possible. Many of our customers are still not exactly sure how to disinfect for Covid-19 or how important it really is. We want our customers to know exactly how effective this disinfecting can be, so you’ll feel safe in your home again. As your neighborhood helping hand we want to help keep you informed about how to keep Covid-19 out of your home.

We Keep Up With The News

As a company that is passionate about maintaining safety for our clients and technicians, we find it imperative that we’re up to date with the best practices. With this in mind, we’re constantly checking the news to monitor progress and what else we might need to know regarding protection. Recently, we came across a post from the CDC’s website about how to disinfect for Covid-19 and properly clean your household. We want to offer you a quick summary from it, and what we’ve learned.

Always Have the Proper PPE

According to the CDC’s website, PPE a valuable function in fighting off Covid-19. When disinfecting a surface you must not only wear gloves, but also dispose of these gloves immediately after you’re done. It is still relatively unknown how long Covid-19 can survive on various surfaces, so for safe measures you change gloves every-time. Consider wearing eye protection. Not only is this a good method pf preventing air borne illness from entering your system but is also a protection against splashes that might occur while cleaning.

There Is A Difference Between Cleaning And Disinfecting

Cleaning is referring to the removal of germs, dirt, grime, dust and other impurities from the various surfaces in your household. While cleaning does remove some of the germs, it does not actually kill them. Cleaning is still an extremely important step because by reducing the number of germs on a surface, you’re lowing the chances of this surface being a threat. Disinfecting on the other hand, involves using an EPA-registered disinfecting product. While cleaning removes or reduces germs on a surface, disinfecting actually kills harmful germs and bacteria. Without a doubt, disinfecting is the most effective way to keep commonly touched area of your home safe.

Prioritizing is Crucial

The main places that need to be disinfected are what we consider as “high touched areas.” This includes but it not limited to tables, doorknobs, light switches, handles, desks, toilets, faucets, sinks and electronics. Wow, that seems like a lot doesn’t it? Luckily we have a special checklist when disinfecting for Covid-19 that covers all of the high touched areas. Each of these high touched areas are unique in the way that they need to be cleaned, and our technicians go through special Covid-19 training where they learn how to properly disinfect these areas.

Safety First

It’s extremely important to put safety first, especially when you are trying to disinfect Covid-19 from surfaces in your household. According to the CDC, the cleaner should always wear the basic PPE like gloves, masks and eye protection. At Fresh Tech Maid we’re very proud to be providing even more PPE for our technicians like face shields, shoe coverings and protective gowns.
