How To Clean Your Blinds in 6 Easy Steps
Looking to get your blinds fresh and ready?! We at Fresh Tech Maid, the best cleaning service in Chicago are going to share our 6 step process of cleaning your blinds and get your home looking fresh and clean in no time.
What You Need:
- De-ionized water – to clear the stains
- Microfiber Cloth – to remove debris
- Vacuum – to lift the dust
The first step is to remove the dust. Starting from the top blind, start running your microfiber cloth against each blind. The microfiber cloth traps dirt, dust and microscopic dust due to it’s makeup. It has tiny wedge hooks and loop shaped fibers which can end up removing the amount of bacteria by 99% versus a cotton cloth which would only remove about 33% which makes them perfect to clean your blinds.
In order to remove the excess dust, you must use the vacuum the blinds. This lifts any of the remaining dust that the microfiber cloth may have missed. It is essential to remove all of the dust before the next step- something that a maid service Arlington Heights does all the time.
Now it is time to sanitize the surface using a clean microfiber cloth and de-ionized water. De-ionized water is water in it’s purest form. It’s also known as ‘hungry’ water which attracts and dissolves soil and microorganisms. Using chemicals to clean is a thing of the past! This can only be done however if a sufficient amount of dust has been removed from the surface. If not, when you wet the dust it will create a layer of mud which you should try and avoid. If the dust will not lift- follow the remaining steps. Your surface is now clean? Enjoy a happy and healthy home and keep dusting!
If the stubborn dust and grime is not lifting from the surface of your blinds, detach them. Remove them from the window frame because the blinds need more TLC.
Fill the bathtub with warm water and soak your blinds. Leaving them in the water for at least an hour allows the dirt and grime to loosen. This creates an easy base to clean the blinds and ensures the dust will be removed efficiently and easily.
Finally, the last step is to remove the blinds from the water and wipe them dry. It should be very easy to lift the dust and dirt and to dry them off with your microfiber cloth. All that is left to do now is hang them back up and voila! Your blinds are fresh and clean.
