Fresh Tech Maid may be the number one home cleaning service in Chicago, but we also specialize in organization! When you have an organized home, it’s easier for our technicians to clean your home. Therefore, we put together some of the best storage organization tips. Get your home ready for the deals!!
1. Drawer Organization
Maximizing the space in your household drawers can free up so much space you didn’t know you had, as well as making things so much easier to find things! There are many different organizers you can purchase online, but you can also do it yourself! The most helpful one that I use personally is repurposing your old kitchen utensil organizer! Although you can only use this for smaller things, you can sort your pens, spices, or junk in your drawers. You can also use a muffin pan for small things or jewelry, as well as small bins. You can find small bins at the dollar store for extremely cheap!
2. Transform Your Closet
Do you have an unused closet in your home? Is it filled with old coats or stacked board games? Simply buying an unassembled shelf unit can open up so much more storage space! You can find these in all different sizes online or in most stores, but here are some examples from Home Depot. Just build the unit inside of the closet and quadrupole your storage space!
3. Clothes Storage
There are many things you can purchase to open up space in your closet. If you’re planning on spending some of that black Friday and cyber Monday, then you’ll need these! First of all, there are many things you can purchase to maximize this space. Things like multi clothes hangers and closet shoe hangers, but there are also many things you can do yourself!
If you need more space when hanging clothes, try using a pop tab and hooking two hangers through the two holes. This will lay the 2nd hanger a little lower than the first and doubling your closet hanging space! It’s also a great way to plan outfits for you or you kids.
Too many purses and too little space? Try hooking the purse to an old shower curtain hook and hanging it in your closet! You can also use shower curtain rings and hang scarfs or fabrics.
4. Under The Bed Storage
Under the bed storage saves my life when it comes to seasonal clothing! I used to store my seasonal clothes in the attic, but it was such a pain to get them every season! Store your coats and winter gear in the summer and vice versa in the winter. There are many under the storage bins you can buy, but you can also repurpose an old dresser drawer that’s thin enough to fit under your bed!
